Council t in USC, s By RICH WALENDA Staff Writer Many freshmen have a difficult time voicing their opinions about USC because they do not have any real vocal outlets, a Student Government official said. "Freshmen cannot run for Student Senate seats, but they do need to be able to say what bothers them," S.G. President Marie Louise Ramsdale said. Most students do not know how to get involved in other policy making organizations. Ramsdale said it is hard to be S.G. president without input from students. "Freshmen are affected with visitation. Ramsdale has made plans to start a Freshman Council. The new program is designed to combine leadership training, philanthropic projects and social activities. According to an S.G. press release, 20 to 30 freshmen will be selected through an application and interview process. Applications can be picked up at the S.G. office and must be turned in before Friday, Sept. 8. Each application will then be screened by a committee composed of student and staff leaders.
