Coaches By D.R. Haynes Sports editor Three former USC coaches were sentenced Aug. 10 for their involvement in supplying steroids to players. The sentences ranged from three to six months probation to three years probation. Tom Kurucz, Jim Washburn and Keith Kephart all pleaded guilty to the charges before U.S. District Jugde G. Ross Anderson on June 1. Kurucz, 42, was sentenced to serve six months in a community facility and three years probation. Kurucz received the minimun sentence under federal guidelines. He faced up to six years in prison and a stiff $350,000 fine. Kurucz, a USC coach from 1982 to 1986, was found guilty of lying to a grand jury and a misdemeanor count of dispensing steriods.
