Features folks
Time is passing far too quickly, and the
semester's end is rushing up at us. This is really the
last weekend students can goof off in good faith
here in Columbia, since next weekend is vacation
and the weekend after marks the only-a-few-daysleft-until-finals
point.
With this in mind, the features folks have
scrounged around and found you a whole bunch of
stuff to do with your weekend, should you so
cnoose.
Today from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Bates House will
be "Rocking for Carolina." Rocking for Carolina,
sponsored by Carolina Cares, is a fundraiser for
Providence Home which provides temporary housing
for the homeless. The event will be run by Rick
Singleton and Bill Simmons in the Bates House
16bby. All monetary donations and canned goods
will be appreciated muchly.

For those of you not lucky or rich enough to get
tickets and go, the game'll be on channel WIS-TV
10 at 1 p.m.
Youseguys (I bet all you cats from New Jersey
figured that you would have to go home to hear
that one again) remember when Music Television's
New Music College Tour breezed through USC a
way back in September? Well, I just got a package
in the mail that included a video cassette and a
memo. The video was of the Godfathers/Living
Colour/Sugarcubes concert that was supposed to
be filmed here at The Carolina, but was filmed at
Auburn instead. The memo said that the concert
will air at 1 a.m. Saturday morning ? still Friday
night to you and me. I checked it out, and the people
at MTV made Auburn seem like a really nice

there wasn't enough go-juice available at the
Russell House. Maybe Holderman should whip out
his thick black pen and write a check or two, eh?
This is the last weekend of Ghosts at Longstreet
Theatre. Because of enormous ticket demand (1
hear that an English professor or two assigned
Ibsen's popular drama for homework), two extra
performances have been scheduled. Shows are at 8
p.m. today, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, and
there is a 3 p.m. matinee on Sunday. Tickets are $8
for the public, $7 for USC faculty and staff and $4
for students and senior citizens. Call 777-2551.
Angel Heart and Pink Floyd's The Wall are playing
at 9 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., respectively, today
and tomorrow at the Russell House theater. For
those of you (like me) who were suckered into participating
in the Great American Smokeout yesterday,
repent for it tonight by smoking up and seeing
The Wall.
