The USC soccer team has two more games to finish off its scheduled soccer season. Both games are this weekend, but the games arc not just regular games. The Akron Zips, who ar? defending national runners-up; the William and Mary Indians, who clinched a bid to the NCAA finals Saturday; and the Boston University Terriers, a team Berson calls the "nrpmiprp" enrrpr in Nihu England, all have plans for a big show at The Graveyard. The tournament is important to all the teams' standings in the NCAA finals, Bcrson said. He said the tournament is designed to give a team with a poor record for the year a boost into a possible atlarge bid into the finals if it shows well at the Met Life tournament. And if a team with a good standing docs poorly, it won't hurt its standing in their respective regions. But Bcrson said the real point of the tournament is the exciting play. ... tnc lormai is conducive to excitement on the part of the players. And . . . it's stimulating to have the opportunity to match up against top teams, particularly from other regions," Bcrson said. The games arc 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday with Akron taking on Boston first Saturday, then the Gamecocks taking on William and Mary. The Zips will then take on the Indians Sunday, and the Gamecocks will take on the Terriers. This is just the first Met Life tournament in USC's future. Berson said the Gamecocks are going to the Met Life Tournament at UCLA next Lady Gamecocks end home season From staff reports USC's volleyball team will play their final home matches of the season today and Saturday at the P. E. Center. USC will try to improve its 6-1 home record as they take on Rhode Island today at 7 p.m. and Florida (27-4) Saturday at 7 p.m. The Lady Gamecock record stands at 13-11 after easily defeating Metro Conference foe Virginia Tech 3-0. The win pushed the team's record to 3-3 and a probable fourth place seed in the Metro tournament.
