Teams tread out to dew-covered fields of grass I with the dream of winning, winning and winning again. 1 The coaches are there too, with their neverceasing whistle blowing and megaphone-like voices. < There is a point in the spring, however, when the s I fields of grass are no longer visited and the whistle " blowing and voices are no longer heard. 5 That point occurs tonight at 8:00 p.m. in i Williams-Brice Stadium with the annual playing of I the I Kf r.amM anH Whito game. The game culminates an intense spring football train- J ing session for the Game- ^ V*. W cocks according to head *#5T~ coach Joe Morrison. mt - ) Morrison said the game j will give him a chance to ^ review his team. ^oe Morrison ^ "It'll be an indication of the progress we made in the snrinc." said Morrison. Morrison had little to say about the defense xcept that it will show opposing offenses "an odd nan front most ot the time." The odd-man-defense's success relies heavily on trong play from the middle linebacker. USC's odd man in the middle will be junior derrick Little. Little moved from defensive end to middle inebacker against Nebraska this past Oct. 4. Against the Tigers, Little had 28 tackles ? one >hy of the school record 29 set by James Seawright n 1984. Morrison seemed pleased with Little's spring performance. "Derrick had a fine spring," Morrison said. "Wc cxpect great things from him this fall."
