The team left Friday for a tournament at Weber State University in Utah and another competition at the University of Utah. The debate team earned a second place ranking in the nation last semester, completing a successful season, said Charles Wilbanks, an assistant professor at USC and debate team coach. The students who were exempt from the immunization program would be forced to leave campus for two weeks, Rhodes said. Rhodes said she proposed the idea to have a mandatory immunization program last spring after other schools had outbreaks of measles. Boston University and Principicia College in Illinois reported outbreaks of measles, Rhodes said. Rhodes said the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta has reccomended that all universities should have immunization programs.
