Up for gi 2,000 bowl By Andrew Miller There will be no campout for the 2,000 student tickets available for the Gator Bowl, according to USC officials. "We haven't come up with anything final," said Jim Petrus, USC Ticket Office assistant business manager. "We know we are going to go with 2,000 tickets for the students. "The students will have chance to pick up tickets on Saturday Dec. 8. This will not be a campout situation. We will use the Coliseum from 8 a.m. to noon, with four or five ticket sellers, and they will distribute them until they are gone. It will be a first-come, firstserve basis. "TICKETS WILL cost $20, cash only. One student, one ID card for one ticket." "The first reason there will not be a campout is because tickets go on sale during exams," he said. "What happened during the Clemson campout had a little bit to do with it. The vandalism and destruction which occurred has made the Coliseum a little apprehensive about having another one." However, Petrus said the final decision about the campout was made by Dennis Pruitt, Dean of Students. Pruitt said his office is working with Student Government and should have a system devised early next week. "We are going to follow whatever Student Affairs requests. If Student Affairs wants a campout, I assume there will be a campout, but they haven't requested one yet, so I really don't think there will be one." "We were told by Student Affairs there would not be a campout," Atheltic Director Bob Marcum said. "We took what happened at Clemson into consideration when we talked to students affairs." Petrus said the reason students are getting 2,000 tickets is because of past student pick up figures for past bowl games. "WE LOOKED at the records of what we offered the students the last time we went to a bowl game," he said. "We offered them about 2,000 tickets, and they picked only 1,200. g 1 and in conjunction with the exhibit, "Social na Traditional Quilts," now on display. king" shows at 8 p.m. at Drayton Hall.
