Fifteen voted in favor of the resolution, "Resolved, society should defer to an individual's decision to terminate his or her own life." 15 voted against iiie resolution and 12 abstained. Wednesday's debate was sponsored by the Athenian Literary and Debate Society. Brenda Baskin argued in favor of the resolution to open the debate. Baskin outlined a strict definition of the resolution, a plan for its adoption and justification of the plan. The resolution was interpreted as the right of a rational human being to sign a living will, a document that legally respects an individual's wish to die rather than survive, ucpcuucui uii iccinnjujgy, nc >aiu.
