Julie's Mao Sometimes you have one of those days when you just need to 'get away from it all.' I've found that the best place to be in that case is Julie's Place. Julie's Place has become popular with many students in the past because of its excellent dinner selections. So, for a change, I decided to try this restaurant for lunch. And I'm glad I did. Julie's Place has two locations in Columbia. I drove out to St. Andrews on Garner Lane. SINCE MY partner and I arrived about 1:00 p.m., I wasn't sure how the service would be because of the rush hour, but that didn't seem to make any difference. We were seated immediately and our waitress, Claire, was quick to wait on us and see that we had everything we needed. I was surprised to find that Julie's Place offers as much for lunch as it does for dinner. The menu offers lunches for the hearty appetite and the dieter. Appetizers offered consist of french onion soup, sauteed mushrooms, fresh fried zucchini sticks, potato skins and french fried onion rings. U A MHT TDPl^DC ? A perfect meal for lunch. I tried the Quiche Lorraine 'N Salad. The salad was fresh and was just enough that I wasn't too full to eat the rest of my meal. The quiche was fresh and had a nice flaky crust. OTHER ITEMS listed were omelets and salads. Prices ranged from a salad for $1.75 to a top sirloin steak for $6.95. Not bad for a hearty lunch. The service was excellent. I had just enough time between my salad and quiche to relax for a few moments. And the waitress maHp sure we had everything we needed. Rather that hovering over us during our meal, she simply came by every now and then to refill our coffee cups. The service made my lunch even more enjoyable, and I believe I could have stayed there all afternoon. Julie's Place also offers "Booze." Items on this list are strawberry margaritas, frozen daiquiris and various wines. Julie's Place also offers Happy Hour Monday through Friday ? two for the price of one. Sometimes it's nice to treat yourself to a special meal. Julie's Place could be just the thine.
