P "I didn't like it that they fired him. It was too soon for them to really tell is he was going to be a good coach. How it will be hard to get other coaches and even players to consider looking at us ? we've fired two coaches in two years." Jonathan Taylor Marine science sophomore "He wasn't given much of a chance; he was only here for one year. I think the excuse that was given to the public for his firing was just that ? an excuse/' Mnrl. 0_l S mam uuiaiianm Electrical engineering senior "I thought that the firing was ridiculous. He should have been able to coach at least one more year. I was disappointed. I don't like Marcum; the team should be run by the coach, not the athletic director/' Tim McAuliffe Marine science freshman \S "I was shocked because since he was new, I thought he would be coaching a couple of more years, at least through his contract. It will be interesting to see who the new coach is going to be." Wendy King Undeclared freshman After an impressive 2-0 start this eason, this year's football team lost even of its last nine games, including efeats to Furman, a Division 1-AA chool, and arch-rival Clemson.
