'A great win, By Brad Cunningham "We kept our heads up and stayed in there and played our hearts out. We had confidence that we could win." Those were the words of Furman quarterback David Charpia following his football team's 28-23 upset of the Gamecocks Saturday. The 6-3, 205-pound junior from Greenville completed 10 of 23 passes for 133 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Paladins to victory. ; 4'We figured we could option and try to make things happen/' Charpia said. "The option is our best play, and we executed it well today. "Our offensive line played a. tremendous ball same today." he said. "They gave 110 percent the entire game and refused to quit. They were outsized; but it's not the size that counts ? it's how bad you want to win." Charpia said he thought the victory would help the Paladins have confidence for the rest of the season.
