AIRLINE TICKET PRICES for night
flights out of Columbia Metropolitan Airport
continued to tumble Wednesday as Delta
Airlines officials announced further cuts.
A Delta official in Atlanta said they would
announce Wednesday afternoon a discount
program to affect every flight in the Delta
system.
Eastern and Delta spokesmen said they
will remain competitive on all fare
reductions. The price reductions are not a
"fare war" but instead are being used to
encourage air travel during the
traditionally slow fall season, said Delta and
Eastern officials.
Freedom Airlines announced Tuesday
that tickets on all its flights to Washington
have been cut for 30 days with no restric
tions.
Discounted far^s to all cities are good only
on reservations made seven days in advance
for flights between Oct. 4 and Dec. 15
between the hours of 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.
