But, in the swimsuit competition, the contestants are topless. And the bodies may be a little hairier that those of traditional beauty contestants. The male contestants in the "Monsieur Cat" contest, sponsored by the USC Kitten Klub, will compete more for charity than for the crown. All contest proceeds will go to the Ronald McDonald House building fund. The contest begins at 7:30 Muscular Dysl The forth annual Swim for Muscular Dystrophy will take place April 24 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Soloman Blatt P.E. Center pool. The award, which is presented annually by the association, honors Hirata for his outstanding contributions to the college and university health field. He received the honor during the group's recent convention in Seattle, Wash. Hirata. a graduate of the Yalp iiniuprcitu moHinoi , _ w?>a v -w* M1VJ B1BVVUVU1 OV1IWI, joined the USC staff in 1972 as director of Student Health Services. Prior to his appointment at Carolina, he served as surgeon-in-chief of the Surgical Service at the Yale Department of University Health and in several teaching posts at Yale. The USC physician is a widely published authority on sports medicine and has served on a number of committees dealing with medical problems related to athletics. Byrnes Home To Be Open The home of the late South Carolina statesman James F. Byrnes will be open to the public May 2 from noon until 6 p.m. Byrnes and his wife Maude lived in the house from 1955, when he stepped down as governor of the state, until their deaths. It is opened to the public annually on the date that marks both Mr. Byrnes' birthday and the couple's anniversary. The house, at 12 Heathwood Circle, was the site of many visits by dignitaries and contains much of the memorabilia collected by the Byrneses during their many years of public service.
