Carrington is expected to accompany British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher on an official visit to the United States Feb. 25-28, which will include meetings with President Ronald Reagan. THE SECRETARY'S visit to the university is the third in a series of visits by foreign dignitaries to commemorate the opening of the new James F. Byrnes International Center. The tentative agenda of Carrington's visit includes a morning news conference at the Columbia campus, a campus tour with a stop at the Byrnes Center and the Movietonews _ exhibit and a luncheon address to facultv and student representatives and state business and government leaders. "Lord Carrington's visit to Carolina is a delightful surprise since he was not one of the dignitaries originally scheduled to visit us this spring," Holderman said.
