ELECT U SC Campus Presidential Preference Poll Results A poll of USC students conducted by the Gamecock this past weekend found Ronald Reagan leading Jimmy Carter by 6 percentage points. Forty-three percent of those polled said that if the election were held when the poll was conducted, they would have voted for Reagan. Thirty-seven percent said they would have voted fnr farter Eight percent favored independent candidate John Anderson, ana 2 percent picked libertarian Ed Clark. Ten percent were undecided. The telephone survey included 850 students selected at random from the campus telephone book. The margin of error in the poll is plus or minus 2 percent.
