i I | White Water Rafting Freudian Fun For All I I 1 \ i You've all seen the ads on television which show a group of ten people on a raft, roaring through the Grand Canyon on the t Colorado River and "going for the gusto" as it were. They fly up in the air then dive into a frothy trough, sending spray everywhere and drenching everybody. It's a lot like a wet roller coaster ride which you control by paddling and directing the raft. Is this something you might like to try? If so, the East Coast boasts some exciting rivers for white water rafting. None that wild, but fun nevertheless. Many of these rivers, convenient to USC, are located ih Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee, and ISouth Carolina. All in the mountainous Blue Ridge area. We had six man rafts, two men and two women on mine, which put in upstream at a tranquil landing. We floated calmly along and conversed, enjoying the river, natura' sounds, and clean fresh air. Then we heard the dull roar I of the oids and dug our legs into the sides of the raft. We picked up speed, began plunging and rising, spray was flying everywhere, we paddled furiously to keep from spinning around, j and then it was calm again. We were all yelling and laughing from the thrill and rush of our first section of rapids, j We spent the next few hours floating then roaring down j rapids, over and over. We came ashore at the end. took hot 8 showers, and spent time discussing the adventures and misadventures of the various rafts comnrisiniJ the urmin frnm x o o r ? w USC. We slept soundly that night and had shared an adventure I I will never forget. ^ ^ ^ ?? I , ! ^ b | Sca?nr? M< j oc ENJOY SUCH Maynard l * Ballet Rep * Chicago S * Ain't Misb *5 By 2 Pill!
