(Students lare leads in play A combination of color slides, film and live action makes up "Lover," Workshop Theatres production opening Oct. 22. The leads are USC drama majors. I Only four persons appear on stage: Scott Hampton and Carol Cartzendafner, the young lovers, and narrators Lou Kaplan and Josephine Bradford. Color slides make up the . set, projected beyond a practically bare stage. The scenes were shot around Columbia in a cemetery, a court room, and a church, with the cobblestones of the USC Horseshoe serving \s the streets of an Irish village. "This is the first time to our knowledge that slides and film ntvwinnA/1 lru-?oll*r have been used for a major part of a local stage presentation," Director Michael Genevie said. The drama, by Irish playwright Brian Friel, traces the lives of the young couple, their friends and families, and the crisis they encounter. An eight-episode television dramatization of Charles Dickens' tragedy, "A Tale of Two Cities," will open the fifth season of ETV's award winning family drama series, "Once Upon A Classic," beginning Oct. 18 at7:30p.m. "A Tale of Two Cities" is a story of mystery, love and honor during the French Revolution. The setting is Paris, where an entire society collapses and several are sent to the guillotine, and London, where they watch the vengeful slaughter of the French aristocracy.
