He has a style that is strictly his own; and it never changes. My first encounter with Redbone came in the summer of 1978 in Central Park. I was there to see the David Bromberg Band (who incidentlv has gone into retirement, unfortunately) when suddenly this man dressed in a safari hat, sunglasses, shirt and tie, cigar in hand and a tall glass of whiskey appeared on stage. He proceeded to perform a rare combination of blues and 40's swing-type music intermingled with a hilarous style of dry humor. The funniest stunt of the ;J show was when Leon had an ;[ opera broadcasted over the ' sound system and made i shadows with the aide of a :[ slide projector with his hands to the music. I know that doesn't sound funny reading it, but as I said before he must be seen to be enjoyed. The Quarter Moon is 'the' place to go in Columbia for a | quiet evening of high class \ music.
