Sports briefs Kanaskie added to basketball staff Kurt Kanaskie will enter graduate school at the University of South Carolina in September to work with head basketball ? - -? A- 4 coach Bill Foster's staff as a volunteer graauaie assistant. Kanaskie, 22, from Enola, Pa., received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from LaSalle College in May 1980. He was a four-year letterman in the back court at LaSalle, finishing his career in ninth place on the school's alltime scoring list with 1,356 points. Kanaskie's highest scoring average was 17.1 as a sophomore As a senior, he averaged 14.5 points and also turned in 149 assists. His career assist total was 366. As a junior, the 6-2, 180 pound Kanaskie was second among NCAA Division I free throw shooters with a percentage of 91.7. HE WAS A MEMBER of the 1979 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference all-star team that toured Yugoslavia and was also a co-captain of the 1980 LaSalle team. Plumb has served as the captain of every Olympic team he has been named to. He won the silver medal three times in Olympic competition. Plumb has been the most consistent rider in the history of eventing in the United States and this is reflected not only in his performance but in the horse that he has trained and his students as well. The training level is the first real level of competition. It has a cross country course of 2000 meters with the jumps not exceeding three feet three inches and a stadium course of 500 meters.
