"I talked with Roche during the
Game of Games, but at the time
neither of us knew anything about
the deal. Alex and I talked about
the deal the other day and he
thinks it's a great opportunity for
me," Hordges said. "If (David)
Thompson gets healthy, we will
have the nucleus for a great team.
"COACH (DONNIE) WALSH
called me from Denver after all
the negotiations were over and told
me of the news. I was elated,"
Hordges commented. "He told me
he needed another power forward
and I was one of five power forwards
selected in the draft. It's
going to be a real learning experience
my first year, but I'm
ready for it."
