It was in 1969 that Gail Hubin s
first visited Israel. After working a

houses, Rubin's interest had begun tl
to sway towards photography. It v
was logical, being the nature of her t
personality, that she now desired
to capture her religious and i
historical ancestry on film. I
RUBIN'S "VACATION" in
Israel continued for nearly nine ?
years, during which time she ^

within her camera the landscape, .
the animals and the plant-life
unique to the region. Then, in j:
March of 1978, Gail Rubin was shot
to death by Palestinian terrorists
during a photo excursion to a bird
sanctuary north of Tel Aviv. ,
