I'm bending that rule, however, for Edou.'ird MnlinarnV In Crtuo Anv Folios, a French boulevard farce that very quietly has become the most successful foreign-language film ever to play in the U.S. It has grossed well over $1 million at a single theatre in NewYork (where it still is playing) and it has been nominated for three of this year's Academy Awards (Best Director, Best Costume Design and Best Screenplay Based on Material from Another Medium). United Artists is planning to I make an English-language version of the film (reputedly with Jack Lemmon in one of the leading roles) and Molinaro is currently working on a sequel, to be released later this year.
