In the women's Final Chi Omega claimed the women's campus championship with a wellearned 6-0 win over arch-rival Kappa Delta. "It feels so eoori tn havp finnllv O ? ~ ?V won it all," Chi Omega quarterback Kerri Hall said. "We worked so hard for this result and it makes all that hard work pay off when you realize you're campus champs." For the women of Chi Omega it was yet another tough game with their Kappa Delta rivals. During the regular season these same two teams played to a tie that was not decided until the fourth overtime period. "We played Kappa Delta on field 'A' when it was getting dark and the field had no lights," Hall said. "The referee then told us that we had only one possession left when we scored on fourth down to win the game 6-0." The championship game was just as close. Chi Omega dominated the early part of the game and lone score of the game came in the second quarter when Chi Omega running back Tammy Hendrick scored on a power sweep to the left side of the offensive line. The extra point trv failed and at the half Chi Omega led by six. Even with a 6-0 lead Chi Omega was far from being overconfident. The game between AFRO and Air Force was the third time this season these two independent division powerhouses met. AFRO won the third meeting because of its superior defense, which is the best this season in intramurals, and its ability to avoid costly turnovers. The difference in the third meeting showed the advantage AFRO has over many teams with its team speed. ; An unidentified Air Force player voiced his despair after the game. I ATLANTIC I jj C.
