McGuire it By Rick Mohn Oamccock Staff Wrifo The scene is familiar. The arena floor of the Carolina Coliseum, where basketball players are participating in a heated contest while USC head coach Frank McGuire sits on the sidelines. Occasionally he will yell a word of encouragement or advice, but mostly he watches, commenting quietly to the visitor sitting at his side. BUT WAIT. A glance at a calendar would reveal that the month is not January, but June. And the players on the floor are not members of the USC basketball team, but boys aged 8-13 playing in an ail-star game which ends a week of instruction for them in the McGuire summer basketball camp. The camp is just one of McGuire's summer activities. "Actually, we get no real vacation, since the summer is in many ways the busjpst part of the year," said McGuire as he ant in the arena last week. "The players are all at camps and clinics, and the coaches are running our camp and recruiting.
