Movie "WAtTI /NTTT review snubbed To the Editor: When a movie is reviewed in the Gamecock, I realize it is subject to the taste and intelligence of the "critic." Usually the reviews can be accepted whether or not I nprsnnnllv aaroo |#V? MWSAMAA J M0A W TT 1 VII tlAC "critic." However, in the review of4'Coming Home/' the film is condemned because it did not give "insight to the quagmire which was Vietnam," nor did it "exorcise some ghost of '68 from your soul." If the "critic" had taken time to find out anything about the movie, she would have found it was never meant to rival the 4'Green Berets" or 44Patton." This is a sensitive, revealing story about what happens after the men return from the hell of Vietnam. It is possible the movie may be too subtle for the "critic" since she was slapped in the face with the bombs, heroes and hell she obviously expected. This movie has already won intAmntionfll npplnim of flic Cannes Film Festival. I, personally, believe it is one oi the best films of the year. The "critic" will continue tc be disappointed if she insists on putting a round movie into a square review.
