Co-ed assaulted By JACKIE HUBBARD Gamecock Staff Writer An 18-year-old USC student was assaulted last week behind South Tower, according to campus police officer Betty S. Bouknight. The woman was walking in the park behind the dormitory about 10:30 p.m. when a man approached her, hit her on the knee and knocked her down. The man told her to "give it up, and you won't be hurt," the woman said. When the woman screamed, the man ran towards Pickens Street, she said. She described the man as "a big built white male about 20 years old with dark brown hair and a beard." Campus police urge students who must be out at night to walk in groups, avoid dimly-lit areas and use the available escort services.
