Procrastinat seeking mei To the Editor: r?i t. - 41 - 1 - r-iettse ue aware mai nexi Monday, Sept. 5, is "Be Late for Something Day" sponsored by the Procrastinators Club of America. We know what you're thinking: "What can I do to aid in the festivities?" We'll get to that later. Have you ever been so bogged down with work that you decided to take an incomplete and finish "next semester?" And then you never got around to filling out those forms so you flunked the course? Do you wait until your lawn is at eye level before you think about mowing it? Are you still making payments on that 1969 root canal? Are you wearing the same socks for the mira consecutive week because it isn't the "right time" yet to do your laundry? Are you a procrastinator? Before we define procrastination let us describe a typical meeting of our club. But first let us deal with the prestige involved in being a procrastinator. You can wear nehru shirts, pedal pushers, turtleneck dickeys or Beatle boots simply by explaining that you were going to get that "new outfit" but never quite got to it. Our motto is, "Never put off till I- ? in* luinuiiuw wimi uciu ue pushed into next week." Our original plan was to set up a table at the Activities fair FOR RIGB Annou Pre-Gamt Up Sp, ur f { 111 JL 1UIIUI V USC Footb; On Football T The 6 Horn 4:00 p.m.-6 _ Drii 2 For The I At r Pre-Game War 810 Dutch Sq. Some of our planned activities include a special "We're not too late to have dessert" banquet, a trip to Hollywood to watch the filming of an upcoming film (either "Star Wars" or "Herbie Goes to Charlotte"), an excursion to Brooklyn to see the Dodgers play the New York Giants, and such notable guest lecturers as Wally Cox, Charlie Weaver, and Mrs. Babe Ruth, the late wife of the late major league home run king Mr. Babe Ruth. TUio rn?& ? a ma ycai a- Dig tup ui llie Year" will be to New York City to visit the world's tallest building, the Empire State Building. Our big fund-raising event will be a campus-wide sale of subscriptions to Life Magazine, proceeds of which will go to the VFW (Veterans of Future Wars).
