Mayotte, a sophmmore, advanced to the finals by defeating second-seeded John Hayes of Princeton 4-6,7-6,6-3. His wins also included a second-round victory over Wesley Cash of Georgia 6-3, 6-3 and a quarterfinals win over Fernando Maynetto ot uiemson 6-3, 4-?, 6-3. OTHER USC players competing in the tournament, which consisted of two singles and one doubles team from 12 east coast colleges, were freshman Peter MacDonald and junior Steve Miller. Miller defeated Gary Leeds of Yale,6-2,60 before losing to Tom Brightfield of Princeton, 7-6 4-6,6-4. The doubles team of Miller and MacDonald lost their opening CRISIS?
