Frustration over pay raises that I
do not meet with cost-of-living I
raises could lead USC faculty to p
seek a stronger voice through |
unionization.
Dr. Raymond A. Moore, USC j

chapter of the American
Association of University
Professors (AAUP), said there has
been a growing interest in
unionization over the past 10 years.
"Now, largely because the
faculty keeps falling behind and
losing all of the gains made in the
1960s, even people who might not
want to join feel they are forced
into it to protect their own interests.
"As a result, 1 think a majority of
the faculty probably would be
interested in and perhaps willing to
join a collective bargaining unit,"

Collective bargaining is a
process in which the worker and
the employer jointly determine the
conditions of employment. A
system of shared responsibility
between faculty and ad- I
ministration results.
