Pulliam said. resently the squad practices ree or four times a week until sketball starts, when the game hedule tightens up. Along with last year's returning heerleaders, some new faces will e seen this fall. In fact, over 50 er cent of the squad is composed f new cheerleaders. U tig squad Lw ideas Mahan, Carol Williamson, Mike Sickinger, Alice Wright, Bob Pulliam, Terry Phillips, Tommy Daniels, Gene Fioramanti, Dave Lerbs, Val Rowe, and alternates Roland Weathers, Narty Calimag, and Sherri Ratley. The squad traveled to Knoxville, Tennessee this summer to compete in the National Cheerleading .Association camp, placing second among 15 teams. A new feature this year is the use of a second man on the microphone. In past years the head cheerleader's job has been a hectic one--running back and forth between the microphone and the squad. This year Sam Wauford will lead the crowd from the mike, relieving the head cheerleader of one headache. Another new feature will be weekly football pep rallies.
