The USC Office of Resident Life has initiated the option of
special interest floors in resident halls, effective fall
semester 1975, according to Dean Richard Wertz of
Resident- Life.
Nine special interest floors have been designated for
different academic subjects: French, Spanish, journalism,
anthropology-sociology, business, political science, religion
and education.
Through this project, students are given the opportunity
to study together, plan activities, meet with faculty
members and carry out projects.
"It is on an experimental basis," Wertz said. "The
Program was very successful in other schools I've worked
at -Columbia, in New York, Pennsylvania University and
Penn State. I'm not quite sure how it will work here.

"We will cluster the students together in the buildings,
