Greek- Wee] area servic A speech by Gov. James B. Edwards aid a fund-raising ser vice project will highlight this year's "Greek Week" activities. "Greek Week" is an annual affair put on by members of fraternities and sororities at USC and is designed to combine a good time with worthwhile community service projects. Activities begin Tuesday night in the Booker T. Washington auditorium with the presentation of "The Greek Follies." The Follies is a theater-like production featuring skits and song and dance routines by sorority members at USC. A small admission price will be charged with the profits going to the Midlands Center for the Retarded. Edwards will speak to a public gathering at 8 p.m. Wednesday. Edwards was a member of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity in college. Members of fraternities and sororities will be taking con tributions in areas of Columbia on Thursday. More than $2,000 was collected and donated last year. The annual awards banquet will be at 7 p.m. Friday in the Hilton Town House dining room. Awards are presented to outstanding - fraternity and sorority members in recognition of their contributions to the University and to the fraternity and sorority system. "Greek Games" will begin at 12 p.m. Saturday on intramural field "F" (the band field). Events for men include building a pyramid, wrestling, an obstacle course run, the softball throw, a tug-o-war, a relay race, the one and one-half mile run and a chariot race. Sorority events include the Volkswagen car cram, the balloon hop race, the izzy-dizzy race, building a pyramid, the egg toss, Miss Aphrodite, the water race and the sorority sing contest.
