Carolina roared from behind o: Thursday to defeat North Carolin 6-3 at Chapel Hill. On Friday, US( watched UNC-Wilmington clos the Gamecock lead *to 3-2 in th rinth before Greg Ward could clos the door. But on Saturday Carolina breezed a 12-5 win agains the same UNC-Wiimington tearm USC and Clemson have agreed t make Wednesday's rainout o April 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the Re Enright field. Carolina rode the big bats c Hank Small and Steve King in th comeback victory against Nort Carolina. The Tar Heels jumped t a 3-0 lead against Gamecoc starter Earl Bass on a dispute home run by leftfielder Jimm Baldwin, a sacrifice fly and a ru scoring double by centerfielder Bi Jones. Carolina got only four hits in the game, but a pinch-hit double by Bass in the eighth drove home what proved to be the winning run. Carolina brought their season's record to 24-2 with an easy 12.5 win over UNC-Wilmington on Satur day. A crowd of 1,200 watched Small record his 200th hit as a Gamecock. Carolina had 17 hits as a team for the day. Tim Lewis, 6-0, got the win despite some fir.A inning dif ficulties when the Seahawks scored two runs. Carolina rallied for six runs in their half of the first. Centerfielder Steve Cook led the USC attack with three hits and hree runs scored. Jim Pankovits had three hits and three RBI's while Greg Keatley also drove in three runs with two hits. Hancock, Small, King and Fleming all had two hits each. Carolina hosts The Citadel tonight at 7:30 p.m. with Ray Lavigne scheduled to 5itch.
