Studen BY GEORGE MORRIS Of The Gamecock staff When many students went to vote in last Tuesday's student primary elections they were confronted by a strange sight.. Instead of the meager lines of voters usually seen in such elec tions, there were no voters at all and no place to vote. The voting machines were turned around, and signs gave the news that the elections had been cancelled. There were several reasons for the closing, ranging from malfunctioning voting machines to failure to list a candidate for treasurer. Student reaction to the closing, and the reasons for it, varied somewhat. Some students seemed irritated, some seemed confused and others didn't care at all. - However, those interviewed agreed almost unanimously that student government and SGA President Leigh Leventis could have done a much better job of running the elections. "I got to vote before they closed, but it's all kind of crummy, isn't it?" said Kevin Powers, a bu.iness major living in Woodrow. "I agree with the closing. It's not fair to leave somebody off the ballot, but they ought to get together on it.
