Study reports Poor labo South Carolina can look forward to a continuing regional imbalance in the state's labor force into the early 1980's, according to a study by the USC Bureau of Business and Economic Research. The study, "Employment and Labor Force in South Carolina in 1980: State and Economic Area Relationships," was conducted by USC professors C. Glyn Williams and J. Michael Marr. According to the data collected by the authors, basic labor supply patterns in the state will continue to remain similar to those of the 1960's. The study, which compares labor patterns and growth in the 60's and Treasurer's o to Petigru Co USC's treasurer's office will be moved from its cramped quarters in the Rutledge L. Osborne Building to a more spacious office on the second floor of Petigru College tomorrow. University treasurer Howard Rhodes cited an immediate need for more space as the reason for the move. He said, "We have in creased our staff to meet the rising demand caused by the University's rapid growth and the move will give us more space. In the area of manufacturing, which will remain an important factor in the state's economy, the trends in diversification of manufacturing are significant. Textiles will be less dominant in the state's economy and the work force will be more widely spread over other manufacturing in dustries. For nine years Dietzel served the dual position of athletic director and head football coach at USC before resigning as football coach at the end of the 1974 season. When he resigned that post, Dietzel expressed an interest in retaining the position of athletic director, but that position was not offered to him by the Board of Trustees during the- athletic department shakeup in Deceml*r. At that time, Bo Hagan was appointed Athletic Director, in charge of all sports except football and basketball. The head coaches of those two sports, Jim Carlen and Frank McGuire, were appointed associate athletic directors and given control over their own programs.
