Stadium: Message Among the new things Carolina fans will see at Williams-Brice Stadium this year, in addition to a few new players, will be two new scoreboards, - complete with message boards. The message board is on the top of the scoreboard section of the board and contains the capacity to produce 126 different messages, which will include statements such as "Fantastic," "Wow," ane "Super" when the Gamecock* make a good play. Messages can flash back and forth across the board and characters, such as the Gamecock insignia, can also be imposed on the board. The scoreboards, which cost USC $228,uuu, were installed in August and have been tested Powerhouse slate Carolina will face some of the nation's powerhouses during the next decade, but most of those games will occur after most of today's students have qualified as alumni. In addition to strong teams from the rival Atlantic Coast Con ference and the tough Southeastern Conference, Carolina will play some new powers. Many professional sports stadiums have similar message boards, most in larger sizes, but Carolina's stadium is one of the few college complexes which has a message board.
