The delightful comedy of love, a favorite of audiences around the world for almost 400 years, will be presented in no-period modern style at 8:15 p.m. tonight through Thursday in Drayton Hall. Tickets are $1 for students and $2.50 for the general public; reservations may be made by calling the theater ticket office at 777-5208. In the classic which revolves around four pairs of young lovers, Rosalind, lIaughter of the banished Duke Senior, falls in love with Orlando but is soon exiled from Hansen BY JANET LEE Harry Hansen's recent en caustics currently on display in Huntington Gallery of Sloan College are "must" viewing for all students and faculty. Hansen, a member of the USC Art Depart ment faculty and who has been exploring and experimenting with the encaustic technique for eighty years, describes the technique as being over 2,000 years old, and as probably originating in Greece. The drama also unfolds the stories of three other pairs of lovers including that of the shepherd Silvius whose love for the coquettish Phoebe is complicated by Phoebe's infatuation for the "boy" Rosalind. The encaustics are rticularly enjoyable, as they are Drious bursts of joy--panels of auty and freedom . Cultural Happenings Workshop Theatre will hold over its current production, Fortune and Men's Eyes to be presented at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Starring in this powerful prison drama are University of South Carolina graduate students Randall Browning and Kenneth Graham. Local critics have called the production the highlight of the current theater season. Students are admitted at reduced rates. Workshop Theatre is located near the USC campus at 1136 Bull Street.
