A DISGUSTINGLY upper
middle-class housewife ap

White's in Richland Mall. Judging
from her appearance and
demeanor, she had every intention
of spending considerable amounts
of money once inside.
Her confident stride faltered
momentarily as she spotted the
volunteer Heart Fund worker
standing near the door. It was cold
and windy; he was shaking. He
heard her footsteps and turned

head as if to check her non

'Ma'am would you like to con

iave it, many people have made a
pecial effort to contribute to the
Heart Fund.
Take, for example, the school
kids who donate their entire
allowances without hesitation. As
WCOS disc jockey , Jeff Walker,
put it,"These kids give us a dollar
and*?t really means a lot because
it's all they've got. . . but it
doesn't really shoot the total up."
. THEN THERE was the all-night
vaitress who made a 4 a.m. trip ..

olunteer workers. Her husband
