Notre Dame fever hit the
campus Tuesday night, as many
students slept outside the Coliseum
in below-freezing temperatures to
get tickets for the Saturday af
ternoon game. t
Tuesday morning at 11:45 the
first person bedded down for the r
long day and night that would earn
him the best student ticket when
the doors opened for the 8 a. m.
ticket pick-up. Graduate student
Steve Campbell, of Washington, D.
C. was the first loyal Gamecock to
show up and he said, "I have never

slept out before but it will
be worth it. a
Surprisingly, not only people who
had 8 a.m. pick-up times were ?
sleeping out. There were also lines
forming by 9 p.m. Tuesday for e
those who had 9:30 and 11 a.m. pick- ?
up times. c
The crowd, which was well over
persons by I a.m., used many t
ways to keep warm throughout the
night. Playing cards, football and
frisbee were favorites, and the
