At the State Department, the officer in charge of POW-MIA affairs, Frank Sieverts, says: "We're not ready to-relax yet. We are continuing with the very serious work of searching for information about the missing in-action." Sieverts emphasizes that the search is going to be a grim, heart-breaking job. Of some 1900 men missing in action in Southeast Asia, only 588 have been accounted for so far, leav ing more than 1300 whose fate is unknown. In Laos, for exam ple, only nine. Americans have turned up out of a total of more than 300. "We intend to be as thorough and as quick as possible," says Sieverts.
