The student senators were asked by Senate President Tim McConnell to avoid making any negative state ments about the senate to the media without meeting with him to "evaluate what we're doing first." McConnell also announced that a play, "No Place to Be Somebody," will be sponsored by the University Union. The play will be performed 8 p.m. Feb. 18 at the Township Auditorium. A bill to establish a Consumer Relations Bureau on campus was introduced by Senators Allen Lawhead, Jenny Tucker and Irvin Woods. The bureau will be administered by a five-man board of directors "consisting of the President of the Student Body, or his representative, a representative of the Student Sen Berlin mi The Berlin String Quartet will present a concert, Tuesday, February 13, in the Campus Room of Capstone. The quartet, whose performance is spon sored by the University Union Artist Series, belongs to the most outstanding of chamber music organizations of the Ger man Democratic Republic. The musicians are Karl Suske, first violin, Klaus Peters, second violin, Karl-Heinz Dom mus, viola, and Matthias Pfaen der, violincello. All four hold leading positions in the Staat skapelle of East Berlin. Founded in 1965, the ensem ble has had signifi :ant national and international success. In 1966 they were prize-winners in the International Music Com peition in Geneva w- 9re they also won the special "Prix David Josefowitz" for the best interpretation of a Bela Bartok String Quartet. The young quartet has developed a large and charac teristic repertoire. This ranges from the classical works of Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven through Schurbert, Brahms and Dvorak to many contemporary works. Baker said thecity police have the authority to make arrests on the USC campus without a campus police officer accompanying them. However, Baker said a campus police representative usually accompanied the city police. Baker said if the police officers have an arrest warrant, "nothing can stop them." A police officer may enter a room without a warrant if he has "probable cause." Prob able cause includes smelling marijuana or hearing sounds which leads one to believe marijuana is being smoked. After the arrest, the policemen may search a "peripheral area" without a search warrant. Baker lefined "peripheral area" only by iay ing it is surrounding the suspect.
