After dropping their initial three contests of the season, Carolina has rebounded to crush Memphis State and Appalachian State by handy scores. But victories over Appalachian and Memphis are not results which readily inspire the use of the work 'upset.' A victory over tough but question able Miami is essential to the Gamecocks as powerful North Carolina State lies next on the agenda and a loss to a small confer ence school is no way to establish momentum for the coming weeks.
