Bob Thomasson and H. Clinton Sloan, student members of the Faculty-Student Athletic Com mittee, said the additional student seats range from section 44 through section 52, 2,250 seats allotted for the USC faculty and staff. Thomasson reported that after talking with Paul Dietzel, athletic director, the athletic department conceded approximately 3,000 more football seats for the student body in 1972. He said the majority of these seats are sideline seats. "With the additional seating students gained through the stadium expansion last year, Thomasson said students should have received better seating, "however, this was not the case," he said. "Also, over the past eight to nine years the size of the student body has increased two-fold. And the students, instead of getting better sideline seats, were ex tended on through the south end zone." According to Thomasson, one of the major factors in the acquistion of these additional seats was op posing teams' fans seated behind WEAL's or discussed a By CHRIS SCHWEICKERT Staff Writer Rock Hill architect Paula Treder held an informal question and answer session at the organizational meeting of the Women's Equity Action League (WEAL) Monday night. Treder spoke on the organization of WEAL saying, "It's a govern ment regulated thing," because "it's a corporation." WEAL is presently applying to the Internal Revenue Service for classification as a nonprofit organization. Treder stated, when this status is granted the national bylaws of WEAL will be revised and state division laws will have to conform to the national laws. A state division requires 25 paying members to be recognized, Treder said. "It's hard (even in a state as small as South Carolina) for all of us who are members to * get together on a regular basis,much less a frequent basis." "I think WEAL is going to take off and go," Treder said. "There is absolutely, flat-out, no discrimination in WEAL as long as the members agree with the organization's basic purpose."
