BIOLOGY SEMINAR Dr. Stanfield Rogers, senior scientist of the Biology Division of DOWNTO I %W led om mit Oak Ridge National Laboratory, will be on campus today to conduct a development biology seminar. Rogers will give a presentation concerning his research on "Gene Therapy" from 12:05 to 1 p.m. in the Coker Life Science Building, Room 101. SHOZO SATO Shozo Sato, Artist-In -Residence at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts at the University of Illinois, will give a lecture and demonstration on the elements of Kabuki dance and drama technique at 8 p.m. Thursday in the Russell House Art Gallery. Sponsored by the Artist Series Committee, the program will be followed by a reception in the Faculty Lounge. PRINTMAKER Internationally known print maker Fritz Eichenberg will visit Columbia next week for lectures and demonstrations at USC and the Columbia Museum of Art. Eichenberg will give a public lecture at the art museum at 8 p.m. Tuesday. He will present several programs during next week to art classes at USC, and persons in terested in attending these presentations should contact Prof. Boyd Saunders in the art depart ment at 777--8179. PLANETARIUM PROGRAM The Columbia Science Museum Gibbes Planetarium, is continuing its presentation of "The Sky at Night." This program is being presented March 4. The "Sky at Night" is a topical show concerned with the con stellations and other objects visible in the current sky. Admission is 50 cents for students and 75 cents for adults. For more information call the Science Museum at 254-2791. SKILLS COURSES Courses in reading and briefhand skills are being offered by the Counseling Bureau beginning March 6 or 7. All the classes will last for three weeks ending March 22. Cost for the reading program is Et Fair; $15 and cost for the briefhand class is $10. Students should begin calling immediately to reserve a place in one of the classes, or they should come by the Counseling Bureau in the Pendleton Building, according to Nanny Carter of the Counseling office. COMMUNICATIONS LAB Communications Skills laboratory is available to any student at USC at the cost of $5 per semester. A lab assistant is provided during lab hours Monday through Thursday from 12-3 p.m. to assist students in their selection and use of varied materials and equip ment. FELLOWSHIPS Fellowships worth $5,000 each for future teachers of college English are being offered by USC's English Department. The two-year grants - $2,400 the first year and $2,600 the second year - are for students in a master of arts program at USC who are planning to teach in college. To be eligible for the program, a candidate must meet entrance requirements of USC's Graduate School and express an interest in teaching at the college level. Applications may be obtained from Prof. John L. Kimmey, USC Department of English, Columbia, S.C. 29208. Deadline for 1972 applications is April 1, and fellows will be announced about April 15. SUMMER SCHOOL School teachers interested in attending the 1972 summer session at USC are reminded that the first term of summer school begins June 1. Registration for the first term of suimmer school is June 1, and classes begin June 2. Final examinations for the first term are July 10-11. The second term registration is July 12 with classes beginning July 13. The term ends with exams Aug. 18-19. Summer graduation at USC is Aug. 19. Get somebody high and Sshow 'em 'round the town.
