Advertisil will addr Arthur J. Albrecht, Senior Vice President of the William Esty Company, N.Y., will address a special meeting of the USC Ad vertising -Public Relations Club, at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Coliseum, Room 3020D. Albrecht's topic will be, "The Anatomy of New Products- Facts and Fiction." He will be using Mitchum Anti-Perspirant Spray, a new product introduced in November 1971, as a case study. The William Esty Company is the tenth largest advertising agency in the United States. In addition to the Mitchum account, the agency handles such com panies as Benrus Watches, Colgate-Palmolive, Hunt-Wesson Foods and others. The senior vice president's trip to Columbia to appear before the club is being financed by a special grant from Columbia's Atlantic Bottling Co., according to Barry Hedden, club president. The grant is being made in return for the club's recent ad vertising contributions to the bottling company, Hedden said. Before joining Esty in Sep tember 1971, Albrecht was previously Senior Vice President and Director of Marketing for Revlon's Mitchum-Thayer Division (1966-71);Vice President of Marketing for the J.B. Williams Co. (1965-66); and Product Director of the Vick Chemical Company (1957-62). Another highlight of the Monday night meeting, according to Hedden, will be the announcement of the winning teams in the club's recent soft drink introduction competition. The first place team will be awarded $100, while the second place team will receive $50. "We have invited a number of professional advertising and public relations people from the Columbia business community," Hedden said, "and we expect this to be the biggest event of our club year." MeinQ st. from 5 PoInts GOP plans precinct meetings Precinct meetings for the Richland County Republican Party will be held Feb. 22, at 8 p.m. Meetings are open to all voters registered in Richland County. Students are urged to attend but must bring their registration certificates in order to participate in the precinct meeting. More than half the students who registered on campus this year have not picked up their registration certificates, according to the Richland County Office of Voter Registration. Students registered in other counties are eligible to attend precinct meetings in their home counties, but may not participate in precinct meetings in Richland County. Precinct meetings deal primarily with organizing wards, lining up campaign workers and electing committeemen and delegates to the county convention. At least six registered voters must be present before the precinct meeting can legally organize or elect delegates. Precinct meetings for the Richland County Democratic Party will be Feb. 24 at 7:30 p.m., but locations for the meetings are still being arranged.
