Union s 1 plans to "USC receives about five times tle amount of money we had (for Student Union operations) at Georgia Tech," David Ness, new director of the Student Union, said. Ness said that one of his goals at USC would be to expand the programs and facilities of the Union. "I'd like to see more programs established with academic departments and other campus organizations," Ness said. "Successful unions are a team effort," he said. "When we get the students, staff and faculty working together, we will accomplish a lot." While serving as program director of the student union at Georgia Tech, Ness said the number of programs offered by the union grew from 50 to over 400. Exam s EXAM IDATI! TEST--A Thur. They don't all do the same thing. We may have some camping, some canoeing and some doing something else. Columbia is so situated as to lend itself to this sort of thing." Ness said that he felt the function of the Union was "cultural, recreational, social and educational.
