Ron Smith took the opening kickoff for the Married Students at his own twenty and following excellent down field blocking out ran the Bates defenders into the end zone. The PAT was good as Frank Gabwell ran the ball for the score. After scoreless second and third quarters quarterback Tom McGee of Marrieds led his team down the length of the field for a fourth quarter score. The PAT failed and the score was 13-0 in favor of the Marrieds. With one minute left to play in the game, Bates scored on a pass from Ken Penczak to Rich Kulkaski. The PAT failed. Marrieds scored on a pass from McGee to Jerry English on the last play of the game to make the final scored Married Students 19, Bates 6.
