Bids end fall rush By KARY NEWTON Staff Writer USC sororities are trying something new this year, which Panhellenic Council Rush Chairman, Julianne Lewis, hopes will improve the rush system. Several women have ibeen ap pointed rush counselors to make themselves available to rushees and answer quest-.ons about various sororities and the rush system. Each counselor is responsible for 20 rushees. T'ie process for Rush is that each rushee will attend six first night parties, then invitations will be extended for each woman to attend four parties. On the last night, women will attend two parties. On the last night, women will sign preferential cards, indicating which sororities they prefer to join. Then sororities will issue bids. Women may not attend more than the required numbers of functions, but may attend fewer than the stated number of pe-ties. According to Marshall Foster, Panhellenic advisor, this year's rush has been a success due to the great show of interest and the particiation of 255 women. Although the hot-dog party on the quad was rained out Thursday, sorority members report that spirits are still up and many ac tivities are planned for the near future. Brittons sa' USC STUDENTS. If Congress does not reinstate the general induction authority, the President can authorize the induction of those registrants who hold or have held deferments.
