Lwis Facts To Know About CU In CU you do not take classes. Instead you design and carry out a.research project in an area of special interest to you. You are assisted and evaluated by a faculty advisor of your choosing. * Besides helping shape the overall structure and policies of the Program, you plan and participate in experimental seminars on approaches to research and on in terdisciplinary problem-solving. You receive up to 15 hours of regular university credit that will count. toward your major and- cognate requirements. Credit arrangements are made individually as the final step of your admission to the Program. * Participation in CU for a semester will not slow down or delay your graduation. If you are majoring in any department of Arts and Science, Business Administration, Education, Engineering, or Journalism, there is enough flexibility in your schedule to allow you a semester in CU. * As long as you will not be on suspension for fall semester, you are eligible for CU. Students with gpr's from 1.6 to over 3.5 have been in CU in the past. Sound like an exciting format for a semester of study? Then why not try it. All you need is an idea for a research project. If you're having some difficulty coming up with a pro ject idea, take a look at your major field. Why did you Choose it? What is it about your major that most in terests you? So far 140 students have been in the CU Program, and each of them has designed a project to suit his or her Interests. Once you have an Idea for a semester's research, you should pick up an application for fall semester at the Russell House Information Desk and answer the two questions. Applications are due Wednesday, May 12. You should also try to find a faculty member whom you would like to work with you on your project.
