Tradition seems to have it thal candidates for political office rur on a platform. Sometimes thii platform consists of promises ideas which are supposed to appeal to portions of society. It is indeed a rare moment, whether wrong or right, when a candidate claims that he has no specific promises tc make. Steve Smith, a contender for the student body president's office, is such a candidate. "I have no platform, as such, and I will make no promises, ex: cept for the fact that I will guarantee student power for the students," Smith declared vesterda. I want StUdent Government to opinion." Atlantis sinks in the G Spur IIT JERRIY CALABRESE F'eatures Editor It is an unwritten, but honored show business rule that one should never use someone elses material unless he can do it better. It seems that "Atlantis" is more of a mimic than a music group. The seven man, brass oriented, group is constantly doing poor imitations of "Blood, Sweat and Tears" "Chicago," and " Creedence." They sound like someone did a very poor tape recording of the aforementioned groups. The lead singer reminds one of an arthritic Tom Jones afflicted with laryngitis. On the whole, " Atlantis" is very bad and should have gone down~ with the continent it was named for. See Walker on back pamge
